Nestled in Odisha’s Ganjam district, approximately 75 kilometres from the Brahmapur Railway Station, this reservoir welcomed us with serene tranquillity. Surrounded by verdant hills, the reservoir unveiled its crystal-clear waters, an awe-inspiring sight. A vantage point atop a nearby hill promised panoramic vistas, enticing us on a brief uphill trek. The effort paid off as we were treated to breathtaking views—gazing upon the reservoir’s still waters, mirroring the encompassing mountains, we were spellbound by the tranquillity it exuded.

A stone’s throw away from the Sorada Reservoir, a designated car parking area greeted travelers, signaling our proximity to the Ghunteswari Temple, a sanctum of immense spiritual importance. A serene oasis situated 112 kilometers from Daringbadi, Khasada Waterfall stands as a picturesque marvel surrounded by lush greenery. Its splendor is most pronounced during the monsoon season, when vibrant foliage enhances its natural beauty. Ideal for a family outing or a solitary retreat into nature’s embrace.
Jirang Buddhist Monastery
Close to the Khasada Waterfall lies the scenic Jirang Monastery, often recognized as the ‘Little Tibet of Odisha’.
